a fabulous 4th {boat races}

We had a great time this past weekend celebrating the Fourth of July with family and friends. We were blessed to have lots of company: Uncle Dave and Aunt Kristen from Pittsburgh, PA, Uncle Brentley and Claire from Dallas, TX, and my Aunt Laura from Fullerton, CA. Mom graciously took hundreds of pics, so here we go!!

Uncle Brentley picked the boys up early on Friday morning, and they made their traditional stop at QuikTrip for candy and slushes!

Mom had darling decorations up everywhere... we all got ready to race our boats...
 Hard at work -- getting artsy! :)
 Then, Jerry arrived and things got really awkward. He and Dave had a small make-out session. Those brothers-in-law sure do show the love!

 All the kids (young and old) ready to race!

 Jerry and Uncle Dave about ready to put their boats in...

 ALL the boys just loved this activity... except Dad, who was back at home watching World Cup soccer. Reminded us of our days in Destin! ;)
 And, then like Titanic, the ship started sinking.
But, no worries, Dave waded in the pond and pulled the boat out. Woot woot! A great start to our 4th of July activities!!
