toot toot, let's scoot!

On Saturday afternoon, Gramps took Grayson on a train ride. It started in Winfield, KS and they got to ride for 4 hours! When they got to Winfield, they picked up cheeseburgers and root beer, and had a picnic lunch while sitting on the tailgate of the suburban... that way they could watch the train get ready! Then, at 1pm they were able to get on! They met up with another man who works for my dad, who was there with his wife and son.
Grayson, Gramps, and Jonathan -- all very excited!

Here's one of the passenger cars they rode in...

Apparently while this picture was being taken, the conductor blew the whistle and it was REALLY LOUD! Both Gramps and Grayson jumped! =)

Carter checking out Grayson's conductor hat when they arrived home.
Thanks, Gramps, for such a fun day!

Fun times with the Dotzours

Our dear friends, Bryan and Althea Dotzour, and their kids, Andrew and Sylvia, came over for dinner this weekend while they were in town visiting from Wisconsin. It was so good to see them and catch up on life! Bryan was one of my best buds from middle and high school.

The big boys had fun together
Carter was very entertained by Sylvia's cool Crocs
With my sweet friend, Althea. We keep up with each other through our blogs and Facebook updates, but I know that if we lived in the same town, we'd hang out a lot! =) Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to come over! We loved having you all here.

Spring soccer games

Spring soccer has begun! Grayson's team is The Elephants, and they are having a ball! Warming up by doing jumping jacks before the game with Coach Casey (G is on the left in the light blue shorts)

The theme for G this year is to be AGGRESSIVE!
G runs with his tongue out... Gramps did, too. Go figure =)

Circus parade

Yesterday we ate a quick dinner at Subway and then lined up in the Delano district, close to downtown Wichita, to watch the Shriners Circus Parade. Grayson all bundled up
Carter checking out the festivities
We loved the elephants!!
Their trunks and tails were wrapped around each other...
It's 6pm on a Thursday afternoon -- anyone know where Van is??

Alumni Easter Egg Hunt at Friends

Saturday afternoon, the four of us headed over to Friends for their annual Easter Egg Hunt. Grayson was so excited to see the Easter Bunny. Carter didn't seem scared -- he just wanted to get down and play!

With all their goodies!!
Here's video of Grayson on a mad dash at the hunt...

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! We had a fabulous weekend with Uncle Brentley home from Ft. Worth for a few days... here are some of the pics!! Grayson and I working on the bunny cake
We tried to make it look like Kristen's version... I struggled with the pink coconut!
A good chunk of our time was spent outside, as it was gorgeous out! The boys (Grayson, Jerry, and Brett) had a BALL playing with G's Christmas present -- a remote-control boat.
This sucker zoomed like you wouldn't believe...
Several of the neighbors came out to see what was going on! I think Jerry and Brett wished Santa would've brought them a boat for Christmas. =)

Grayson's very own bottle of wine -- notice the label!
Snuggling with Carter... and rooting Butler on!
The fam on Easter morning -- why can't we all look the same way and smile?? =)
Mom, Dad, and Brett
They look SO MUCH ALIKE!

Can't believe Mom and Dad are celebrating 40 years of marriage this year! They were wonderful Easter hosts to all of us kids! Thanks guys! And, thanks to Uncle Brett for all the fun and playing with the nephews. We all had a blast! =)

David says that Carter's ready for a fraternity...

...because he's a very happy boy with two drinks at a time. =) There's the whole milk in one hand...
and then the Crystal Lite in the other!
Back and forth -- he's a pro at staying hydrated. Take that, fraternity boys!!
