Carter's Easter Program

Carter's class at his Kids' Day Out program had an Easter program this past week. They started off doing a cute cross craft in their room. Carter with his buddy Parker, having fun with the paint!
My sweet friend, Kim, who is also Parker's mom :)
Both the little boys look just like their dads!

Carter thinks it's pretty funny to stick out his tongue... just a little bit.

After completing the craft, we all headed into the sanctuary to watch the kids sing. Mrs. Cassie, who is holding the door open for us, is one of Carter's teachers this year.

Here's Carter singing with his class... notice Bear is between his knees... he HAD to take Bear with him, but his song had lots of hand motions. So, he stuck Bear between his knees and sang right along with the group. Oh my. ;)

(Thanks, Mom, for being the photographer!! I had forgotten my camera...)

Soccer -- Spring Season

Not great footage of one of Grayson's goals, but I tried!! (And, yes, that is Carter crying in the background... he is getting his 2 year molars, has a cold, and is just plain tired.)

Grayson has an assist here...

At the end of the game, Coach Casey gives words of advice and congratulations. The Cobras won 10-1. Yea!! (Then, all the boys sound like girls, when they yell COBRAS!!)

circus parade

The Shrine Circus came to Wichita last weekend. We're not that big on circuses, but who can pass up a fun circus parade?? We grabbed a quick dinner of yummy sandwiches at one of my favorite spots, The Artichoke.

Then, we headed to the Delano District, and waited for the festivities to begin.

It doesn't get much more circus-like than to see elephants walking in a straight line and holding the next one's tail. It's kind of cute. :)

This was a first... a semi truck loaded with TIGERS and one big LION was in the parade.

It gave us chills... Scary!!!

And, we were thankful these guys didn't spray us!

laundry room makeover

While I love our home, one of the things I miss the most about our old house is the convenience of a large laundry room. Our old laundry room had lots of space, a pocket door, and a half bath. It was great!! Well, our new laundry room is an odd shape and does not have a pocket door, which makes the space feel even smaller. Our old washer and dryer have been on the fritz, so when we came upon a great deal at Lowe's, we took the plunge!!

Here's our laundry room BEFORE:

And, here it is AFTER!! We bought the front-loaders without the pedestals (saving us about $400) but purchased a "stacking kit" so that they are safely attached to one another. Jerry built an amazing oak bench, complete with storage inside it, and moved the cabinets so that they were directly above the bench. This also enabled us to have the room to stack the washer on top of the dryer.
I found a cute rod iron piece to hang the boys' backpacks and my purse on.
And, then added some fun greenery to the door!!
Kind of makes doing laundry fun... I think. :)

a fabulous {fort worth} weekend

This past weekend, Mom and I headed down to Texas to see Brett, do some shopping, and enjoy some girl-time!! Our first stop on Friday morning (after the Gap outlet in Gainesville) was at Sam Moon for some fun jewelry and watches. We met up with my friends from work, Paige and Nicole, who were also headed to Ft. Worth to run in a race on Saturday morning.

(I also got to see my good friend from OT school, Kelly, but our picture didn't turn out. Bummer!) On Saturday evening, Brett took us out to eat off of 7th St. in Ft. Worth, to a new place called "Hacienda San Miguel". It was yummy!! It was sooooo windy all weekend...
Brett and his girlfriend, Claire
Mom and I had a BALL shopping together :)

We made it rain at places like Nordstrom's Rack, Home Goods, Marshalls, Pottery Barn, the Vera Bradley store, and some very fun other places that we don't have here!

We also loved eating at a new restaurant called Zoe's, California Pizza Kitchen, Blue Sushi, and Einstein Bagel.

We tried to act like hip young adults, and meet up with some of Brett's buddies (late) Saturday night at "Blue Sushi" -- here we are with Aaron and his girlfriend, Vanessa

(I think I look exhausted... I'm not as young as I used to be... haha)
This beast (with CA license plates) was parked in front of our hotel both Saturday and Sunday mornings! It looked like a tank to me, but I was told that it was a storm-chaser vehicle. Cool.
We finished our weekend by going to church and then having an early lunch at Central Market, another one of our faves. Their spring rolls, fresh salads, AND bulk candy is all to die for!!

Thanks for a fabulous weekend, Mom and Brett!!

one cool cat

Grayson went to a Spy-themed birthday party this weekend, and Carter managed to steal his sunglasses! He has pretty much worn them non-stop since...

Sesame Street Live!

The boys have been anxiously awaiting their furry friends from Sesame Street.

Every time we drive by Intrust Bank Arena, Carter says, "Melmo?? Melmo??"

Well, Melmo... I mean, Elmo was there tonight.

And they were soooo excited!

Walking to the arena Sweet brothers :) In the middle of the show, Grayson leaned over to me and said, "Mom, Bert reminds me of Uncle Brentley." :)
Sucking his thumb and twirling Bear's wing... Carter loved the show!!
Thanks, Nana, for the fun evening!! We all had a great time!!
