SOLD!!
I just have to share my excitement about Craig's List. Several of my friends have used Craig's List to sell random things, and when we bought new basement furniture last weekend, I thought I'd give it a try. I listed our navy blue couches on there... it's free to list anything... and within an hour of my listing, I got a phone call from a lady wanting to buy one! She came over, paid me $150 cash, and one was gone. Last night, another couple came and looked at the remaining couch, paid us $150 in cash, and it's done! Woo-hoo!! That was pretty stinkin' easy!! I think Craig's List is best described as a "local internet garage sale." Now, what else can I put on there?? =)

Mr. Froggie
It's definitely summer around here. The highs are in the 90s, the kids are out of school, and there's TONS of frogs (or are they toads??) everywhere. This morning, Grayson and I saw two hopping around our front flower beds.
Of course, I thought this would be a great blog post, so I ran to get the camera. I took some pictures of Grayson trying to catch the frogs, and then I tried to get one of just the frog himself. Grayson then proceeded to say: "Smile Mr. Froggie! My mommy wants to take your picture!"
This is what I would call an "excited/slightly scared/squeamish" face. Grayson really tried to scoop the frog up into his cement mixer, but the smart frog was a little too fast. =)
We decided to let him hop back into the front yard and find his froggie friends!

Fishin' at the farm
Yesterday we drove up to Jerry's parents' farm, just outside of Galva, KS. All of Jerry's siblings were there to hang out. In the afternoon, we went out to the pasture, to take Grayson and his cousin Caleb fishing at the pond. This was Grayson's first time to fish, and he and Jerry had a great time!
What a cute father-son pic...

Jacey, Vonny, and I were "supervising" the fishing endeavors =)
"This fish is SLIMY, Mom!!"

A beautiful song...
This past Sunday at church, a beautiful song was sung during the special music. It brought tears to my eyes, and I thought I'd share.

If You Want Me To by Ginny Owens
The pathway is broken and the signs are unclear
And I don’t know the reason why you brought me here
But just because you love me the way that you do
I’m gonna walk through the valley
If you want me to
Cause I’m not who I was
When I took my first step
And I’m clinging to the promise
You’re not through with me yet
So if all of these trials
Bring me closer to you
Then I will go through fire if you want me to
It may not be the way I would have chosen
When you lead me through a world that’s not my home
But you never said it would be easy
You only said I’d never go alone
So when the whole world turns against me
and I’m all by myself
and I can’t hear you answer my cries for help
I’ll remember the suffering your love put you through
And I will go through the valley
If you want me to.

Slumber party with Nana and Gramps
Last night, Nana and Gramps invited Grayson to have a slumber party at their house. They all went out to eat at Planet Sub, and then headed over to All-Star Sports where there are some fun little kids' rides. And we all know that Grayson LOVES rides!! Nana said that they had a great time together... and Nana did a great job taking pictures! Here's some pics from their slumber party!
Riding the little helicopters
Loving the caterpillar ride!
Great smile...
Our neighbor friend, Chloe, was also there, so she and Grayson rode a couple of rides together
Hopefully riding the Gator at home prepared him for these cars!

Fun times with good friends
My good friend Kim invited us to come visit her family in their new home in Olathe, KS. Grayson and I drove up yesterday afternoon after Grayson's last Kids Day Out for the year. We had a great time hanging out with Brian, Kim, Aubrey, and Abigail, and they were so very hospitable to us! This morning, we headed out to Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead -- a free petting zoo close by. We also met up with some other friends, Cara and her boys, Brody and Gannon, and it was fun to spend time together on such a beautiful day!

Grayson loved feeding the baby goats a bottle of milk
"Drink it all, kids..." (no pun intended)

Happy Mother's Day
(Mom, me, Miss Kay) Anyway, our time with the Brookses is coming to close as they are moving soon. The friendship that Mom and Dad share with them is priceless. The couples met when Mark and I were two years old -- meaning that they have been good friends for 28 years!! The two families have travelled together, celebrated holidays together, played together, gone to all kinds of plays/sporting events/shows together... the list goes on and on. We grew up with no cousins, but their family was closer to us than typical cousins. We spent endless hours over at their house, and they did the same at ours. We will miss the Brookses sooooo much!
